Although when cycling in Oregon I had not issues. The cities seem worst.

Currently Zen look like the best ISP but with LLU looking to be less economic they all ride on top of BT's kit. If it is really bad I will upgrade to a lower contention level.

I use Chrome - fast, good, but there odd difference and BRT does not always work quite as planned with Chrome. I hate going to IE* though, like surfing with treacle.

Your comment got caught in the Spam filter - just released it.Jmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18078208384599353066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2864052595440250048.post-90728916802865873242010-09-23T01:14:29.657+01:002010-09-23T01:14:29.657+01:00I can relate to a few problems you've had late...I can relate to a few problems you've had lately.

When I was out cycling (BTW I achieved my 1,000 mile target this year for outside miles=good for me)
anyway back to my point I was making a left turn, looked, indicated and moved to centerline and a big fancy car pulled up to turn left out of the junction I was heading into.

I don't think she looked as she just pulled straight out, I had enough time to cut in the wrong side of her and hence I then shouted very loudly (non abusive) to get my point across.

It was bright sunny morning, and I was wearing my union jack top and bright yellow arm warmers.

But rather than stop she floored it and zoomed off up the street.(If I'm Not Here It Didn't Happen)

Sorry to say but drivers are really bad over here and a high portion are always on the phone, you can easlily count 6 out of every 10 cars is texting or mobiling.

As far as your ISP issues go, we have cable here
and it's supposed to be 25 mbps down and 6 mbps up - cable suffers from sharing issues but no where near as bad as copper based DSL setups.

I use a site here http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
as they have a Chicago server (closer the ping server the less hops and more accurate speed indicator.)

I ran a quick search for bandwidth speed test in UK and found this one

http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/

but again It would be better to find a Cambridge one, closer to home better it will be.

Your figures are really low even for copper based service, are there any cambridge based cable companies that provide service? But sounds a ISP issue to me, most are bad at troubleshooting as you have to wade through Level 1 techs first (I'm lucky I know someone very high up in Comcast our cable ISP)

Oh the other thing I wanted to mention is I primarily use Seamonkey as my browser (think Firefox) but has built in e-mail client and way better download manager than firefox) as I typed this really long reply a few days ago to find out it wouldn't post it and I lost it all, so I'm using IE to post this reply.Shaun Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15388979994976462944noreply@blogger.com
