Keep Pushing Those Pedals

I started this blog to follow my training and subsequent charity cycle ride from Bangkok to Saigon in November 2008. In 2009 I went cycling in India in November. Although a motorist ran into me in February earlier that year and broke my collar bone, which nearly ended that ambition! I did not manage any cycling tours in 2010 so I am hoping to get to Japan in 2011.

Yehuda Moon

I like the Yehuda Moon cartoon; the wry humour both amuses me and strikes a chord. It is now "syndicateable", so I thought I'd create a "page" for the cartoon to try out Blog Pages and syndication.

About Me

My Photo
Jme
I have been cycling for what seems like for ever and been interested in taking pictures since I was around 15. My first proper bicycle was a Falcon with 5 gears and my first proper camera a Canon AT1. A few years (quite a few) later and I have several bicycles (a generous definition of several), including two hand-built for me and I used to have a 12megapixel Canon EOS D5. I started life as a researcher after studying physics, I designed silicon chips (and GaAs). Ten years on I moved into Sales and got to travel the world. I then moved into Operational Management. My philosophy of life boils down to "treat others as you want to be treated" and that "structure provides a framework to push and experiment" and "work hard to be happy" and finally "take opportunities, but do not expect them all to work out". I am worried about where the planet is going - global warming is real. We are also using all the planet's fossil resources without enough attention being paid to the development of renewable sources of energy
